Neurodiversity Training for ADIs

Neurodiversity Awareness Training for ADIs that is independently CPD Accredited by The CPD Standards Office, delivered in partnership with Thrive

Tracey is delighted to be able to offer two online training options.

Neurodiversity Aware - 1 hour online webinar, a basic introduction to Neurodiversity. This webinar can be arranged at dates and times to suit you for groups of 8 or more people. The cost is £27 per person, with discounts available for larger groups 15+. Get in touch to arrange.

Neurodiversity Champion - full day online workshop to explore Neurodiversity in more detail The training was originally created to introduce Neurodiversity Awareness into the workplace, for ADIs this most often relates to working in the car with a student learning to drive.

Wherever the environment, the learning outcomes of these courses remains the same and Tracey will be using driving related examples throughout to apply the content into your working situation.

What you will learn: The Champion workshop is designed for anyone who wants to become a Neurodiversity Champion. You will learn more about the way that Neurodiversity is viewed by others at the same time as changing your own view and acceptance of Neurodiversity.   You will learn more about how to support your neurodiverse students and how to make adaptations specific to their individual needs.

Learning Outcomes 
* Become familiar with the terminology around neurodiversity.
* Be confident to list the main neurodiverse conditions.
* Understand the strengths that are common within each condition.  
* Develop an understanding of how an individual living with each condition may present to others.  
* Gain a basic understanding of executive functioning.  
* Understand the concept of neurodiversity in terms of executive functioning within daily life.  
* Activity to personally experience what it feels like to have an executive functioning challenge.  
* Understand why it’s important for diversity and inclusion to include neurodiverse individuals.    
* Learn the importance of clear communication and develop an understanding of how complex communication can be via an activity.  
* Be introduced to sensory overload.    
* Discover ways to create a more inclusive sensory safe learning environment.  
* Understand the idea that anxiety can be caused by external factors.  
* Start to understand that all behaviour is communication and look towards support rather than judgment.  
* Discover the importance of supporting those who self-identified as neurodiverse.  
* Understand the positive impact that reasonable adjustments can make and have an idea where to start implementing them.
